How to Use
Active Project Research enables you to search across all your project data using natural language. Assistant understands your project context and can answer questions, find specific details, and help you navigate complex project documentation.
Set Up Your Project Data
Ensure your project data is available to Nomic:
Connect an Integration
Set up the ACC or Bentley integration
Upload Project Files
Upload drawings, specifications, and project files directly
Index Your Project Files
Nomic automatically indexes your project files when you connect an integration or upload files. This process:
- Extracts text and data from drawings, PDFs, and documents
- Creates searchable embeddings of your project content
- Makes all project data available to Assistant for research and queries
- Updates automatically as new files are added or modified
Tagging for SharePoint and Egnyte: If you're using SharePoint or Egnyte integrations without a project delivery software integration (like ACC or Bentley), you'll need to tag relevant project data files. Tagging helps Nomic identify which files belong to your active project and ensures they're properly indexed and searchable.
Ask Questions and Research
Once your project is indexed, you can ask Assistant questions about your project:
- Find specific details - "What's the wall thickness for the exterior walls on Level 2?"
- Search across documents - "Show me all references to fire rating requirements"
- Compare information - "What's the difference between the structural drawings and the architectural drawings for the foundation?"
- Get cited answers - Assistant provides specific references to files, drawings, and document sections
