Context Sources
Context sources bring external files, drawings, and specifications into Nomic so Assistant can search, reference, and reason over your actual work. You can upload files directly or connect external document systems that sync automatically.
For organizing and managing files once they're in Nomic, see Files and Projects.
Uploads
Uploads are the simplest context source. Drop files directly into a conversation for one-off questions, or upload to Files for persistent reuse. No setup required.
- Best for — Quick questions about a specific document, ad hoc files that aren't in a connected integration
External Integrations
External integrations sync files from your existing document systems into Nomic automatically.
Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
Assistant accesses drawings, specs, and project docs from linked ACC projects
Bentley ProjectWise
Assistant accesses drawings, specs, and project docs from linked Bentley projects
SharePoint
Assistant searches documents, PDFs, and folder structure from connected SharePoint sites
Egnyte
Assistant searches documents, PDFs, and folder structure from connected Egnyte folders
Bentley ProjectWise is currently available as a Design Partner Preview. Contact your Nomic representative to enable it.
Project Delivery (ACC, Bentley)
When your admin links an ACC or Bentley project to Nomic, Assistant automatically gets access to all project files—drawings, specifications, submittals, and documentation. No tagging required.
- Automatic sync — New and updated files are indexed as they appear in the project
- Project-scoped — Assistant knows which files belong to which project
- Best for — Active project research, code compliance, submittal reviews, and RFI automation
File Storage (SharePoint, Egnyte)
SharePoint and Egnyte connect to your document management system. Your admin selects which sites or folders to sync. Assistant can search across firm standards, past projects, and historical documentation.
- Admin-selected sync — Admins choose which sites or folders to bring into Nomic
- Firm-wide or project-tagged — Files may be tagged to associate them with specific projects or capabilities
- Best for — Research across past projects, firm standards, and historical documentation
