Drawing Reviews
The Nomic agent is trained to review drawing sets and produce PDF markups compatible with review software like Bluebeam Revu, alongside a structured findings table.
Drawing Review is built from three workflow templates you can clone and customize:
- Residential Drawing Standards Check — Review a residential drawing set against residential drawing standards; use the workflow builder to retarget the same pattern (for example, another building type or jurisdiction).
- Drawing Standards Creation — Create a Drawing Review Standards document from existing markups, RFIs, and files your firm already has.
- Drawing Standards Review — Check a drawing set against a standards document (your own, or one produced by Drawing Standards Creation).
For how a standards-based review run works (Explore passes, issue classes, sub-agents), see How a standards review run works on the Details page.

Two ways to get started
Most teams begin with one of the following—choose based on whether you want to experiment quickly or operationalize using documents your firm already produces.
Start with the residential template
Get to a first meaningful review fast: clone the template, tailor it to your project, run it on your set, then steer follow-up passes in chat.
Clone the Residential Drawing Standards Check template. That opens the workflow editor. Prompt the editor agent with a simple customization, for example: “Make this an office building set reviewer for a project in NYC.”
When generation finishes, review the draft standards Nomic produced, optionally edit them, and save the workflow.
On the Workflows tab, run the workflow on your drawing set.
The agent reads your customized standards and the drawings, then launches targeted sub-agents that hunt for issues across the drawing set, aligned with those standards.
After the initial pass (often on the order of 5–10 minutes, depending on set size), follow up with additional prompts. Nomic keeps full context and can go deeper. For example: “I only care about critical coordination issues because I'm later into this project and the GC. Please run additional review passes focused on issues my GC would raise as RFIs.”
Build standards from your firm's materials
When you are ready for a repeatable process grounded in how your team actually works, mine existing artifacts into a standards document, then run checks against it.
Gather material your firm already uses: internal standards, RFIs you have received, and example marked-up drawings. Add them to the Drawing Standards Creation workflow so the agent can produce a Drawing Review Standards artifact for future reviews.
Export the standards to PDF or keep them as an artifact in Nomic. Review with your team, edit as needed, and you can ask the agent to revise the standards later when you add more context.
Run Drawing Standards Review with your new standards (and any extra context you provide in chat). The agent applies those standards and produces markups on your drawings.
A drawing review workflow behaves like other Nomic agent sessions, except the first pass tends to run longer while the agent builds context, explores the set, and places markups. If the first round feels too shallow or off-target, send another prompt and steer the next passes.
