Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams

Connect Microsoft Teams to catch up on chats and channels, pull decisions out of meeting transcripts, and post updates.

What it can do

  • List your chats, teams, and channels, and see who is in a chat.
  • Read chat messages, channel posts, and thread replies, and search messages across all of them.
  • Find a scheduled meeting from its join link and read its transcripts.
  • Send messages to existing chats, post to channels, and reply in channel threads, including @mentions.
  • Add or remove your own reactions.
  • Prepare a chat message as a Teams link that you review and send yourself.

Setup and security

  • You sign in with your own work or school Microsoft account. Nomic can reach only the chats, teams, and channels that account belongs to.
  • Your Microsoft 365 administrator must approve Nomic before anyone in your organization can finish signing in. Reading channel messages and meeting transcripts always requires that approval.
  • Teams requires a work or school account with a Teams license. Personal Microsoft accounts and unlicensed accounts can sign in, but the Teams tools do not work for them.
  • Sending, replying, and reactions ask for approval before they run. The Approval column under Supported tools shows each tool's setting.
  • Nomic cannot start a new chat, or edit or delete messages. To message someone you have no chat with yet, or to review a message before it goes out, the Nomic agent gives you a Teams link that opens the chat with the message typed in. Nothing is sent until you select Send in Teams.
  • Transcripts are available only for scheduled meetings you organized or were invited to, and only when someone turned on transcription. Your administrator can turn off transcript access or hide who said what.
  • Microsoft Teams is a separate sign-in from Outlook Mail and Outlook Calendar.
  • Add Microsoft Teams from the marketplace. Its server cannot be added through Custom MCP.

To connect, see Add an MCP server.

Example requests

  • "Summarize what the Riverside project channel discussed this week and list open questions."
  • "Find messages from the structural engineer about the transfer beam and tell me what was decided."
  • "Read the transcript of yesterday's OAC meeting and draft action items with owners."
  • "Reply in the façade thread that the revised mockup is scheduled for Friday, and mention Dana."
  • "Draft a Teams message to the site superintendent asking for today's concrete pour photos."
