Get started
Quickstart
Nomic connects your project files and standards so the Nomic agent can review drawings, submittals, and code compliance against them, with citations on every answer.
You will bring data into Nomic, then ask the Nomic agent for what you need—and package the jobs you repeat as workflows.
Watch a walkthrough of how to get started with Nomic, then pick the path that matches how you arrived and follow the numbered steps. More recordings are at Nomic University.
Choose your path
1. Sign in or request access
Pick the option that applies:
Individual plan
Create an account at app.nomic.ai. Use a company email. You get trial AI usage, then can subscribe for \$20/mo — see Plans.
Join an existing organization
If your firm already uses Nomic, ask your administrator to invite you. You'll receive an email invitation to create your account on <org>.drive.nomic.ai.
Request a Business or Enterprise instance
Need SSO, live integrations, and shared projects? Book a demo. Do not create an Individual account for firm-wide work.
Individual: continue on app.nomic.ai. Organization: log in to your firm's instance URL from the invite.
2. Give the Nomic agent context
You can start without integrations: upload files directly. On Business and Enterprise, connect Autodesk Forma, SharePoint, Egnyte, or other sources for ongoing sync.
Upload files directly
Drag and drop files or images into a conversation for immediate use.
Connect integrations
Business and Enterprise: set up integrations to sync project files automatically. Individual plan: upload files.
On organization instances, administrators configure connections in Admin → Integrations.
Audit indexing spend. Admins can filter Admin → Usage to parse
rows or open Admin → Analytics → Parsing to see parse spend by user and
individual parse events. Individual users can open Settings → Usage to see
their own parse events.
3. Chat or run a workflow
Chat with the Nomic agent (fastest)
The Nomic agent searches, reads, and reasons over your project data—drawings, manuals, specs, submittals, and similar files—with citations. Prompts that do not point at files you have uploaded or synced tend to yield generic answers that are not grounded in your project data, so start from data you connected in step 2.
Before you prompt: open a project that already contains files, or use the + button on the input bar to attach files or images for this session (see Uploads).
Try prompts that reference what you brought in:
- “Summarize the main coordination notes on the drawing sheets I attached.”
- “What does this submittal PDF say about [installation requirement or product]?”
- “Compare these two details—what conflicts or mismatches do you see?”
- “What layers are in this DWG, and list the door inserts with their attributes?”
The big jobs work the same way—ask for a drawing review, a submittal review, or a code check and Nomic runs it in the conversation. See Built-in skills for what each one produces.
Pick Medium, High, or Extra High effort when you want the agent to reason longer before acting. It costs more.
Run a workflow (repeatable)
Once the same job runs weekly and everyone should get the same output, package it as a workflow. Browse the Workflows tab for Nomic's starter workflows—clone one, adjust it in the builder, and your team runs it from a file-request form. See Workflows for when it is worth it and Run a workflow for run instructions.
